Students of College of Engineering at National University of Science & Technology, showcase their talents and skills at the Project Model Exhibition

Level 1 students of College of Engineering at National University of Science & Technology, showcase their talents and skills at the Project Model Exhibition as the part of Electro-Mechanical Workshop module held on 24th December 2018.


The module team of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering Department and CATALYSE department of the college hosted a "Prototype Model Exhibition” for all the groups of the level 1 students. Students were invited to display their innovative and prototype model for the exhibition held on 24th of December 2018, from 10 AM-12:30 PM. The prototype project model is the part of the Electro-Mechanical Workshop module assessment termed name as Group Project exhibition for all the level 1 students of engineering discipline. The projects group comprises of 3 to 4 students group were given a showcase and prove their technical skills acquired during the semester. As part of the Group project exhibition, the students have demonstrated their ideas and fabricated models by using used raw materials locally available waste materials. The main aim of the Prototype Model Exhibition was to enhance the technical skills learnt from this module and to innovate more technical oriented projects in their further levels of continuing studies.


The exhibition was first of its kind at this level, and the total of 20 project groups participated in the event by displaying their innovative upcycled models. Although the main theme of the group task was on the use of used scrap materials and create useful models which can be used in domestic purpose.


The Dean of the college Prof. Dr Ahemd Al Balushi, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Studies) Prof.Dr.Vallavaraj, Prof.Dr.Sudhir-HOD of MIE, Dr.Moammer Dy HOD of MIE, module team, Mechanical & Industrial Engineering & Electronics and Computer Engineering department staff, CATALYSE Staff and students witnessed the immersive display of the students work prototype models. The below-mentioned group projects were selected and appreciated with distributing the medals for best prototype models. The details as follows

During the medals distribution ceremony carried at the model exhibition, Prof. Dr Ahmed Hassan Al Bulushi, Dean of the college in his speech congratulated each and every participant for their innovative project work and appreciated their sincere efforts. He also added that students to keep up the good work, and encouraged them to take innovative projects during their next course of studies.  Prof Dr.Ahmed Hassan Al Bulushi, along with Prof. Dr.Vallavaraj and Prof. Dr.Sudhir distributed the medals for the best model exhibited student groups.
