CCE conducted Career Development Program for Alumni

As a part of ensuring continued support to CCE Alumni graduates, CuTPD department has organized a one day workshop program on career development on 26th December 2016. The main objective of the workshop was to support unemployed alumni students to help them to find employment and job position. The CuTPD team led by Ms. Etab Al Hinai put their efforts in organizing the event in cooperation with academic departments and industrial partners. During this program, CCE alumni members Mr. Mahir Al Waheedi the HR Manager, Huawei Tech Investment (Oman) LLC and Mr. Haitham Al Hudaifi, HR Manager of Al Watanya Group of Industries were present and provided necessary guidance and shared their experiences to the alumni members.

The program started with the welcome speech by Professor KP Ramachandran, Associate Dean (PG&R). Heads of departments from engineering branches were also present during the session. Members of industry and faculty had face to face discussion with the alumni and shared necessary inputs and guided them on how to find jobs and opportunities. Highlights of the program are: 1) Group discussion, 2) Motivational talk and career opportunities available for engineering graduates in Oman by the industry representatives. Mock Interviews were also conducted, which enable the alumni members to update their knowledge according to the requirement of the industries.

Our Alumni member Mr Haitham Al Hudhaifi, HR Manager of Al Watanya Group of Industries, conducted a group discussion with the alumni and shared his experiences and the opportunities for the engineers other than technical areas. Another Alumni member Mr. Mahir Al Waheedi, HR Manager of Huwaei Tech Investment LLC, shared the opportunities for engineering graduates with telecommunication industries and the motivated the students to get ready for the work place realities.

The country manager of, Mr Walid Mahdi Mussa conducted a session on CV writing and explained the students on the preparation of CV and differences between good and bad CV. Also he shared the job opportunities for the engineering in Oman and in gulf region.
