Staff development and training
Prime importance is given to the continuous professional development of faculty members. Staff members are encouraged to undergo higher education or training through college staff development scheme and so far many members of staff have availed this opportunity and many are in the pipeline. This includes attending international conferences, workshops in addition to staff development activities inside the college.
Student engagement and activities
Department is promoting student centred L&T culture where the role of the teacher is only a facilitator and students are responsible for their learning. Technology oriented L&T is being practiced and promoted using virtual learning tools like Blackboard and other mobile app based learning tools.
Relation with industry
Strong industry linkage and invited speeches by industrial experts have been regular features of the course delivery there by giving students a strong industry orientation relevant to their field of study. Industrial visits are arranged for students to enable students to see real life implementation of the theoretical concepts which they study in the classroom. Joint scientific activities have also been conducted with industry such as seminars and symposia. Some initiatives have been conducted to provide technical training for industry staff but these have not materialized yet. No consultations have been conducted or initiated with industry yet.
